"The only just and safe reform ...

"The only just and safe reform which would also fulfill our human rights obligations is to give children equal protection under the law [on assault] rather than persist in giving the most vulnerable the least protection." Lucy Thorpe, policy advisor for National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) of UK, as reported by the BBC, Nov 19.2004 in article "Smacking Ban will be unworkable".

Now this hits the nail on the head! Should children who are the most vulnerable, be given the least protection anywhere, whether the UK, the US or Iraq? Should any nation protect its children? This quote is addressing the issue being debated in the UK of how to define abuse to children and what constitutes smacking and what constitutes hitting, and who will decide? As some of you readers must know by now, I am a Civil Rights Activist for the Civil Rights of the Preborn Children. That does not mean I am black--I am not. I am white, anglo-saxon, Protestant, and I am insisting on Civil Rights for ALL preborn children anywhere in the world.
